Since moissanite and diamond have similar thermal conductivity properties, most traditional electronic
diamond testers cannot distinguish between the two. A moissanite tester should be used if at any time
you believe that a stone that has already tested positive for diamond may actually be a simulant.
Moissanite testers use electrical conductivity testing, which allows them to distinguish between diamond
and moissanite with ease.
Both integrated diamond moissanite testers and seperate diamond and moissanite testers will do the job
of seperating diamond from moissanite. Keep in mind that moissanite testers will not detect any other
simulant, and should only be used after a traditional diamond test has been performed.
